Registration
When will registration open? And what does registration include?

Registration will open in January 2017. 

Your registration fee includes access to all OHBM-sponsored keynote lectures, symposia, oral sessions, poster sessions, welcome reception and club night.

Please note that there is a separate fee if you wish to attend any educational courses on Sunday, June 25th.

Why don’t the credentials I used to submit my abstract work for the registration website?
The submission website is not maintained by OHBM or tied to your OHBM membership record.  The registration site requires your OHBM membership log in credentials.  Forgotten passwords can be reset here.

What is enhanced membership?
Enhanced registration includes 2017 membership with OHBM is offered to members needing to renew their membership as well as new attendees who would like to begin a membership.  Enhanced registration is available to both members and students.  

Benefits to OHBM members include, reduced registration rates, reduced journal fees, unlimited career and calendar postings, committee membership (based on need) and the current and past Annual Meeting presentations.

Do students receive reduced registration?
Yes, attendees who are full-time students working towards a graduate degree (MS, PhD or MD) or an individual who is no more than four years passed completion of such a degree are eligible to register as a student.

Can I cancel or change my registration?
Registrations will be refunded at 100% prior to May 22, 2017.  After May 22, 2017, a $50 cancellation fee will apply and after June 5, 2017 no refunds will be given for meeting registrations or special event tickets. To cancel your registration, contact the OHBM Executive Office at info@humanbrainmapping.org.   No-shows and OHBM Membership dues will not be refunded. 

Changes such as name changes, form of payment and 2 or more registration type changes will be subject to a $25 handling fee.  This fee does not apply to the addition of educational courses.

Are there any meals included with my registration?
OHBM will provide morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Lunch will be provided on Tuesday.  The meeting registration includes a Sunday night welcome reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres.   Food will be available throughout the convention center for purchase.

I am a member of the press who would like to attend.  Who should I contact?
To register as a member of the press, please send your name, company, and verification of press credentials to info@humanbrainmapping.org.

Can I bring a guest?  How about my children?
Guests are not allowed in scientific programming without a registration badge.  You are welcome to bring a guest(s) to the Welcome Reception and / or Club Night.  Guest tickets are available during pre-registration or onsite for $50USD per guest.  

OHBM does not provide onsite childcare, you should contact your hotel for such services.  Children under the age of 18 may attend the meeting for free and do not need to register but will need a guest pass which is available at the registration desk. For liability reasons, children under the age of 18 are not allowed to attend the Welcome Reception or Club Night.

Scientific Program
How are Educational Courses and Scientific Programs selected?
Each year a Call for Proposals is sent to the OHBM membership.  The members submit their scientific programs to the OHBM Program Committee who reviews each proposal for quality, level of attendee interest and appropriateness.  The proposals meeting that general criteria are then voted on for inclusion in the Annual Meeting.

How are abstracts submitted and scored?
Abstracts are submitted to OHBM during the submission process.  Upon the submission deadline the completed abstracts are sent to a volunteer pool of approximately 700 individuals for scoring based on quality, level of attendee interest and appropriateness.  Scoring is done on a 6 point scale; 0 = reject and 5 = Excellent.  Abstracts reviewing scores of 5 and above are reviewed by the Program Committee for possible inclusion in the Annual Meeting as an oral session.

Can I receive the scores of my abstract review?
No. Review scores are confidential to the OHBM Program Committee.

Where can I find advance program information?
As sessions and speakers are finalized the information will be added to our website.  A printed program will be available onsite.  As the Annual Meeting nears, information will also be available via our mobile app.

Does OHBM provide CME credits?
Yes, the OHBM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education credits.  CME forms will be available onsite and online during the Annual Meeting.

Does OHBM offering any type of awards? Or funding for travel?
The OHBM offers a limited number of Merit Abstract Travel Stipends and Merit Abstract Awards to those attendees who are submitting abstracts.  The application can be found in the abstract submission site.  An overview of the awards can be found here.

A limited number of reduced registrations will be approved and the application will become available when registration opens. 

Program Committee and Local Organizing Committee
Who serves on the OHBM Program Committee and how do they get appointed?
The Annual Meeting Program Committee is a group of about 20 volunteers from the OHBM membership, charged with planning the scientific and educational component of each Annual meeting. Current OHBM members are encouraged to apply during the Call for Volunteers in January.  Nominations are reviewed and voted on by current Program Committee members.  Program Committee members are asked to serve a 3 year term.

Who serves on the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and what do they do?
The LOC is comprised of current OHBM members who reside in the location of the Annual Meeting.  The committee is charged with assisting the Executive Office venue selection, sponsorship, media relations and development of the LOC Symposium.  LOC Committee members serve a 1 year term.
