Absolutely–OHBM offers a variety of different options to make OHBM accessible. Various options are highlighted below:

Abstract Submission Fee and Registration
The abstract submission fee and overall registration may be reduced if you are currently living, working or studying in any of the countries classified as Low or Lower-Middle Income by UNESCO Institute of Statistics and the World Bank (based on gross national income per capita). Click here to see the list of countries that qualify for a waived abstract fee or discounted Annual Meeting registration.

Awards and Grants
OHBM is also committed to the involvement of trainees in its Annual Meetings and/or caregivers of any kind. To help encourage participation, OHBM will be offering three types of awards and/or grants. The Merit Abstract Award, Travel Stipend Award and Caregiver Grant. These opportunities are designed to assist with offsetting the costs associated with traveling to and attending the OHBM Annual Meeting. The Merit Abstract Award is intended to be awarded to particularly noteworthy abstract submissions whose peer-reviewed scores place them at the topmost tier of trainee abstract submissions. The Travel Stipend Award covers all travel, accommodation and meeting registration for individuals and is specifically intended to help support those persons wishing to attend OHBM who reside in countries that are formally recognized to be economically disadvantaged and whose abstracts are also highly rated. The Caregiver Grant can be applied for by parents and caregivers of any kind. The purpose of this grant is to assist with offsetting costs for those who need extra support in these areas.

Details on eligibility and booking instructions will be available on the OHBM website following the completion of the abstract and scientific review process in February 2026.

A student member is a full-time student working towards a graduate degree (MS, PhD, or MD degree) or an individual who has completed such a degree less than 4 years ago.

Registration for OHBM 2026 in Bordeaux, France will open in January 2026.

No, OHBM will not be offering refunds under any circumstance. This includes registration cancellations due to visa issues.
