Dear OHBM Members:
OHBM Council has been keeping a close watch on the recent actions restricting citizens from seven countries from traveling to the United States. As an international organization dedicated to the advancement of brain research, we are concerned about the potential impact of the ban on international scientific collaboration. The immense challenge of understanding the brain will only be possible through the contributions of researchers around the world, and coming together for scientific meetings is essential to this kind of collaboration. Many OHBM scientists are directly affected by the US travel ban and we wish to register our deep concern about the negative impact that such a travel ban will have on scientific productivity and health research.
OHBM leadership is committed to our members and the brain mapping community to ensure accessibility for all to participate in our meetings. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make you aware of ways in which you can be involved in supporting the community. One such way is through this petition being circulated in support of the scientific community that includes signatures from 50 Nobel laureates notoimmigrationban.com should you wish to be directly involved at a personal level.
